Move-in experience
I have recently moved to the Hawthorne House, and I must say that the staff here is incredibly helpful. The common areas, as well as the apartments, are well-maintained, clean, and exhibit pleasing aesthetics.

Lack of disabled parking accommodations
There’s about 60+ parking spots on each floor. 2 of those are assigned to disabled parking. We’ve asked for additional spots to be put in with no recourse. If you need parking accommodations, look elsewhere. There’s a motorcycle that’s been permanently parked in one of the spots on the first floor for months now. No one else can use the limited space because that one is effectively taken every single day.

Decline in management
After three years of living here, the complex has been owned by three management companies. We will be leaving as soon as our lease is up. Otherwise, it’s a $2000 fee to break the lease. The current company hasn’t improved the state of the complex; arguably it has gone down hill. People living here don’t respect neighbors (stealing packages, leaving their dog’s poop on the floor in the hallways, speeding through the garage). Also, it’s truly difficult to get packages. As of 11/22/2021, I was... informed that the office doesn’t receive packages (although they did in the past). P.S. Unfortunately, the 3rd company that took over fired EVERYONE that was previously working in the front office. Not sure why (that didn’t happen with the first transfer of the complex).
