Don’t live here unless you have no other choice

These apartments seem nice when the office managers show you the apartment, but after signing the lease it goes down hill and you start to see terrible things here.
People smoke in the stairwells and outside your apartment in the hallways. We had two bikes stolen from the bike storage, and they were chained to the wall, on the third floor. The bike storage on our floor was inhabited for a time by a homeless and was filled with garbage. The elevators are very slow, and if someone gets in the...
floor below you it will take them down before it comes back up for you. There isn’t a lot of parking. Every time I have family over they always struggle to find a place to park legally or without being towed. They have people pick up garbage starting at 7 pm. We have had times when we put the garbage out before this time and they have already passed so we have to take it all the way down or wait another day. The gated area where we park doesn’t shut half the time because it has problems, thus making it easier for anyone to get to where you park your car. The pool was closed for half the summer. They don’t maintain it very well. When we first moved in our laundry machine leaked for about a month until they finally came to repair it. It looked like the prior owners dog had taken a bite out of the rubber ring inside the washing machine. There were tons of animal hair after we moved in and they “sent someone to clean the carpet,” and when they left we still had dog hair, and soaking wet carpets that took over two days to dry. There have been days when animal waste has been in the elevators. The elevators always seem to be dirty, and they cover the smell just putting air fresheners inside them. Sometimes it looks like vomit on the floor in the elevators. When using the common area where they have a food serving area, couches, and office space for a family event we had to clean it before because it had been used before us and nobody from the apartment had cleaned it. Also if you want to reserve that area they charge to reserve. If you don’t reserve you run the risk of it already being taken. (Not very reliable.)
Our neighbors in front of our apartment, who we are good friends with had no A/C for over a month and a half! He went down almost daily to ask them if it had been repaired or if someone was scheduled to come and fix it. He stayed home from work to wait on people coming to repair who never showed up. They didn’t provide him with a portable unit, and they didn’t g

Unethical. No Parking. Cheap. Lots of hidden/extra costs.

1. Unethical management. 2. No parking. 3. Cheap flooring and cabinetry. 4. Unclean common areas. 5. Horrible internet connection. 6. Extra utility costs without warning.

Read below for specifics.

1-2. I was told moving in, all uncovered parking spots would remain available for guests and that only covered spots would be restricted.
Starting this week there were newly implemented parking restrictions: all parking except the ungated guest spots require a pass. There is one parking pass per...
apartment, regardless of how many adults live there, and there are approx. 15 guest spots that are always filled, with no street parking close by. What happens if you have a roommate? Or live with your significant other?

I was told by management that that doesn't matter, and there are no options to pay for another spot. Also, regardless of what I was told by management, or the hardship this may cause, my lease states one spot per apartment and I am bound to it.

3. I have had the cabinet doors break off 3 times now from normal use by responsible adults. The flooring is cheap laminate. The oven door broke, and the garbage disposal was installed wrong.

4. There is pee on the stairs in the stairwell closest to the parking area and throw up near one of the two elevators that has been there for over a month. The janitor scooped up the throw up a couple days later but did not spray it to rid of the stain or smell. There are abandoned food items near the parking lot door that have been there for a couple weeks now as well.

5. Internet connection and bill is shared by all residents. It is $85 for terrible internet connection. It regularly cuts out when watching Netflix.

6. Water, trash, and sewage costs are shared by all residents equally. I was told the price would range from $40-60. They were $81 this month, not including gas and electric. We also pay $15 for the one parking spot, $12 for Admin fees and $10 for taxes.

Overall, corners were cut on quality to keep building costs low and the management is not treating the tenants here ethically. I signed a lease trusting what I was being told and they will not honor their words or give me any options to get out of the parking bind myself and all other residents are now left with. I emphatically recommend that you do not move in to this complex and greatly regret being bound to them for another 9 months.

Simply horrible

Let me safe you the headache by highly recommending you to avoid this apartment building. My experience at this place is one disappointment to another. Within the 4 months I have moved here, management has changed 3 times and with every management change, their professionalism, attitude and policies go down with it. They will tell you the world to get you to sign the lease but then once you have signed, the management shows no respect and provides no assistance for the tenants.

- Getting them...
to answer their phone is near impossible
- Getting any maintenance service, urgent or non urgent will take you a week. I have submitted 2 repair tickets, both of them did not get recognized until a week later, after I had to go talk/email them. I ended up having to fix the problems myself.
- Policies are changed without any notice to the tenants. When you tour the apartment, they say gym/common room is available 24/7 and now they restrict the hours and charge you a fee to use the common room. In addition, they advertise free parking and end up slipping the parking fee into the contract and charge you. No communication is ever made to the tenant on any changes.
- After 7p.m, the internet slows down significantly making it impossible to use. Advertised speed was 100mbps but at night it's closer to 5. I have to go to the office at night instead of working from home as the speed is horrendous.
- Highly recommended against getting units facing the road. While it has nicer views than the back facing ones, the cheaply installed windows mean you can hear every single vehicle passing the apartment.
- Located in a pretty sketchy area of town means you will more than occasionally run into unfriendly homeless people and hear screaming and shouting from the neighbors.

I am glad I signed a shorter lease term comparing to originally intended. Counting to the day my lease ends.
