Upgraded kitchen is nice! Hard wood floors a plus! Balcony with storage. Spacious rooms and nice size bathrooms. New heat and ac units. Washer and dryer hookups a plus. Quiet neighborhood with low traffic. Very close to shopping centers and local bars. They allow pets so that's a plus. Nice landscaping and awesome neighbors. Centered in the heart of Newport News and surrounded by plenty of things, and places to see and do. I would recommend a friend or family here!

I live in Pilot House Apartments and it is nice but there are some things that i as a resident would like to be done differently. For instance 2 yrs ago we had a renovation done to the complex and at the time I had a 5 month old baby, which would have been fine but im a stay at home mom and my husband works and they did not want us in our apartment from 8AM-5PM. Now that wouldnt bother me so bad if they put us in a gotel or something that we have 2 litterally across the street, but no they had 1... apartment open for a bunch of the tenants to stay in until they were done doing what they had to do. How M i sopposed to take care of a baby with strangers around?.. i dont think so, so anyways then the apartment is nice but its really half way done we have new hardwood floors in the kitchen area but really old carpet in the rest of the apartment, still same old bathrooms, cabinets, doors, ext. And then on top of it they keep raising the rent every year, last year twice that yr so now we are paying $900 too much for this place. Now my bathroom sink has this horrid smell coming from it mind you im pretty much a neat freak and cant have my house smelling like a porter john, so i called and told the office about it. the maintenance lady comes up and beings me a bottle of bleach telling me to pour bleach down the drain and theres not much else we can do about that so sorry. So by this point im pretty dumb founded to say the least, and with something like this i just cant take no for an answer and they are still not doing anything about it. But the neighborhood is really good and that is something that is very important to me kids or no kids. So with that being said I would not recommend this to anyone.
