Great location, fair price

I figured I would leave a review since the most recent review is 4+ years old. I'm going on my third year at Kensington Place. All of my immediate neighbors have lived here for 7+ years, which is a good sign. The complex was apparently built in 1947, so the units are older, but they are renovated as folks move out. This complex is in a GREAT location for a fair price, especially considering you get off-street parking and in-unit laundry. Maintenance is always responsive, usually within a day.... Same with the leasing office. I love that I have real wood floors and cute retro tile in the bathroom.

Cons: I see roaches and crickets unless I have pest control out frequently. Very close to the fire station, so you hear all the sirens. No fancy clubhouse/gym/pool, if you care (I don't). My apartment is a bit worse for wear in terms of the walls, paint, baseboards, and tile floors in the bathroom.

Overall, I recommend this place and I'll continue to renew.

Do not rent from here!

Do not rent from this complex! Huge issue with the billing practices for this apartment complex. Upon moving in we provided our rental insurance coverage and the property manager said everything was good to go. About 2 months in we received a charge for renters insurance. I called Kim the property manager and she said that my husband was listed on the insurance and I wasn’t. We called and confirmed with our insurance company that both my husband and I were covered and provided Kim with the... information. She reversed the charges. About 2 months later we get another charge for insurance! This time Kim told us that our insurance had expired. We called our insurance company again and they confirmed that the policy was updated and sent over to Kim the property manager. We then had the insurance company call Kim (which the did) and inform her that we were covered and sent the policy for the second time. This month I received a third charge for insurance even though Kim was aware that we are covered!! Also, there is apparently a new policy that they can no longer reverse incorrect charges so my husband and I are liable for them. On top of this the apartment complex is very loud. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The apartment also smells like smoke due to the lady living down stairs smoking in her apartment. Needless to say we are moving out ASAP.

NO

If you like to sleep through the night ever, don't move here. If you want to listen to your neighbors stomping and screaming, this is the place for you.

Did not live there, just toured

When I checked online they listed the July 1st as when an apartment would be available, however when I went to look at it they said that the date listed online was when the former tenants would be moving out and that they take a few days to clean the place so I decided not to apply since that was unprofessional in my opinion. Upper units do not have elevators. It looked nice and had there not been calendar issues I would have considered moving there.
