The management is not good with keeping a hold of your rent. They will say you did not pay even with the receipts to prove it. Multiple people in the office will need to see that your receipts are valid before they say that you paid it. What is the reason? What do I have to lie about paying rent for? For the amount of money you’re paying, you’d think they have better rules about parking and privacy. I’ve had my parking spot taken multiple times and they did not do anything about it because... they would have to be there in order for them to tow the car. I’ve had a part of my car stolen from this place as well and let them know and they did nothing about it. They do not knock when entering your apartment. I did not have any notice of anyone coming in… but I hear someone from the maintenance shuffling the keys and about to enter my apartment! It is scary being that I am a female living in my apartment and there are so many crazy stories about things like this. I feel like the one bedrooms should be called studios with how small it is and how the door is not even a door. If you have company, be sure not to expect any privacy when going into your room. You can hear everything…. Lastly, what is the point of having someone call you to buzz them in if they cannot get through all 3 doors? That makes it hard for our visitors, food deliveries, and packages. We don’t want to have to go downstairs in order to have things delivered up, especially if we have Covid, when we are supposed to be quarantined but want food, they should be able to drop it off at the door without any contact. I feel like these apartments are made for college kids. I loved it here the first few months of my lease but things started to get out of hand with the management and the problems everyone was having. If they get better management in the office who actually care about the people living here, if they make it easier for deliveries and packages to be dropped off at our doors without contact, and if they change their parking laws and get better security on the property, I feel like it would be an ok place to rent. There is a lot of room for improvement and if they truly care they would improve. Save your money, there are places with more rooms for this price that I am paying for 1 with very little room.

Horrible Management
The management is horrible. I was shown a Different room than what I got and could not even see the apartment until the day I moved in, I asked multiple times, the room ended up being an ADA room. Everything in the apartment was different heights lowered counters and things, I have back issues so it's very inconvenient, and the layout was very different. I was promised by a few different people in the office that I would get the room I was supposed to get but a new manager came in and the nicer... one quit and I was basically told anything she promised was null and void and I was stuck with what I got. They have made no attempts to get me the room i was told I would get and have been lied to many times. My neighbors moved out and I asked to transfer the that room and they lied and said it wasn't available. The garbage chute is right next to my room and constantly smells through the walls. Crime is very bad here also I had my catalytic converter stolen right out the parking lot. They only want your money here and will not correct any mistakes or wrong doing on their part. Do not rent here.

Property Manager at Midtown 64 Apartments responded to this review
Hello,
We are sorry to hear you have had a frustrating experience. Unfortunately, the system did not show that the home was an ADA unit, and upon discovery, we did not have any other available units as they were all pre-leased. After deciding to go... forward with the unit, the team placed you on a waitlist for a transfer. Additionally, the 2nd unit referenced was already pre-leased, which is why we were unable to accommodate that transfer.
The property manager will be reaching out to you to discuss your concerns in further detail and should be in touch soon.
Respectfully, Midtown 64 Apartments Management Team

Problematic Management
If you do rent here, keep in mind that the management team is not here for your convenience, but rather solely for their profit. Reaching them is near impossible, as nobody seems to monitor their shared email inbox or their office phones (regardless of office hours and holiday hours). Be sure to get absolutely everything in writing, as we have been receiving notices and warnings for arrangements that were previously verbally agreed upon, without being told that there was a chance in policy that... resulted in notices and warnings being valid. Bluntly, the current leasing team is unpleasant to work with and rude at times.
The property itself isn't too bad. The rooms are good quality, although we found our kitchen appliances were functioning less than expected (stovetop is exceptionally weak). The fire alarms are also placed very close to the stoves, so if you enjoy cooking meats or otherwise creating any type of smoke in your apartment, keep the door completely open to prevent the smoke alarms from going off. High possibility of noise bleeding in from apartments above you and around you.
The surrounding area is considerably populated with homeless and other suspicious characters who might try to enter the buildings for unknown reasons (ex. "I need to use a restroom, can I use the one in your room?") or scam you, but all buildings require key fobs at multiple doors before reaching the actual residences, so the level of security addresses this issue well. This does however create issues with deliveries of both packages and food, so be weary of that and prepare for many delivery issues with less-than-willing delivery staff.
The apartment location is great; heading northbound or southbound into either of the bigger cities is extremely easy. Heading closer the Sound or into the Cascades isn't too much of a trip either, as the complex sits along multiple highways.
Overall the property is not bad, and worth 3 stars or so in my opinion. But the management team treating residents poorly is quite the stressor on otherwise good apartment living. As it stands, the cost of admission and living here is far outweighed by the negatives of living here. Save yourself the headaches and stress. Find somewhere else to rent. It will be worth your time.
