Property Details
We (husband and wife owner team) have owned this space since the building's conversion from apartments to condos in 2007. We lived there ourselves until 2017. The building itself was built in 1950 and designed by Space Needle architect John Graham... Jr.
It's a one bedroom, one bath (tub/shower). ~540 square feet. #1209, on the 12th floor (of 13). The building is called The Decatur, and it's located at 1105 Spring Street (at Spring and Boren) on First Hill, right by Virginia Mason and Swedish, and a very easy (if uphill on the way back ;) walk to all points downtown and also to Capitol Hill. There is a Whole Foods just three-ish flat blocks away and tons of great local restaurant options.
The furniture pictured was included for previous tenants, but it will be empty/unfurnished at this turn-around. We own a storage unit in the basement of the building, which is included for tenant use, and we store two A/C units there, which are also included for use in the unit during summer (we're happy to help install).
There is a roof-top deck for the community with a grill. There is a locked mailroom and a weekday building manager who's been there since we were there, and he is wonderful. (There is emergency after-hours help, too.). The neighborhood is great; I felt very safe as a young woman living there for ten years, and the two tenants we've had previously stayed multiple years. Our most recent tenant is happy to be a reference for us as owners.
Perhaps most crucially for that area: we have an off-street parking space in the upper garage of the building. We can negotiate that being included or not as preferred, as parking is in high demand to others in the building since there are more units than parking spaces. It is an additional $275 per month.
We kept rent flat year over year for our previous tenants as long as they stayed because they were great, and we're happy to honor that for a new renter who takes good care of the space. We have tried to be good to our tenants and lost them only to moves out of the area, not to a different local space.
It's a no smoking building, and pets are permissible on a case by case basis with deposit.
Please let me know if you'd like to take a look or would like any more info!
