Large units / Obnoxious neighbors/ Nice staff

Just for some context I didn’t tour this building before moving in and this was one of the few apartments in Seattle that was in my budget and not the size of a shoebox. Review: I really liked the 1 bedroom + balcony, it was plenty of space for me. Heads up, the washer/dryer is not in unit, instead, there are shared laundry rooms (one washer and one dryer) on each floor. The maintenance guy, Memsud, is the nicest person! The only person from leasing I communicated with was Mercy and she’s also... very nice and responsive. However, I moved out as soon as my 6 month lease was done. It seemed like there was a healthy number of college-aged residents. I’ve lived in the University District and I lived on Roosevelt Way & 65th while the light rail station was being constructed and all of that still does not compare to how loud some units were regularly. Ultimately, I could not stand the combination of the walls being too thin / loud neighbors, living on a busy street, and not being able to conveniently walk to restaurants or stores. If you are interested in moving to this building look for units on the upper floors (Floor 4-5), corner units, and avoid units facing east if you don’t want to be above Lake City Way. Happy Apartment Hunting!

Wouldnt Wish This Apartment on My Worst Enemy

The manager is barely responsive. The walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors on both side having intercourse almost daily and you will hear every car passing on LCW day or night. The property itself is meh in a very undesirable part of Maple Leaf (views of a strip club, anyone?). Its a lot of young couples and college students living here which makes for a bad time all around. Cannot wait for my lease to be up ($1800 to break is insane for such a trashy property). AVOID.

Avoid

Sketchy area, poor communication with management, unresolved issues with apartment. Other friends who have lived in other ICON Real Estate properties have said similar things and I didn't listen but here we are.

If you know what you're getting into and you're okay with it, you're probably fine, but good luck if there are issues requiring upper management.

Maple Leaf Plaza

The apartment it self is great! The living room is very spacious but I think some of that space could've been allocated for the bedrooms. There is also a Thai restaurant underneath the building and the scent from it tends to go into the building. The landlord is nice but I unfortunately found several little issues with the apartment upon move in
