Great Apartment, Overpriced

I think this apartment complex is very nice and roomy. Yeah, people say it's small but do you really need a huge place? I'd say it's #2 on the list. Although, not sure what the first wouldve been like. Couldn't wait to move and Carriage Way got us in sooner. Overall, happy. They're not wrong with what they include.
Everyone tells me it's quite a lot for rent. That's my only concern and everyone else's. Thank you.

Average apartments

We stayed here for a couple of years.

First the good things about this community is that it has an outdoor pool and a pond, plenty of parking spaces, small community hall and a gym in the basement. It's closer to a park, a trail and other go-to department stores and restaurants. Almost all of the apartments had a good patio. The managers on-site are friendly and responsive. Maintenance requests are completed within a reasonable time period. The apartments, although a bit dated, are decent. And...
the rent covers cable and internet.

Now onto not-so-good things. You can expect the snow covered and un-salted walkways during winter, kids running in the clean-a-month hallways, plenty of inspections. It is an un-gated community, the entrace to the apartment buildings are not locked. The outdoor swimming pool isn't as cleaned. The community hall and gym is average at best. The sound-proofing in the apartments are non-existent. The floors of the upper unit, where we were, creaked when we tried to move about the room.

I'd rate this community as 3 stars but I took a star off based on our move-out experience. I rarely write reviews but our move-out experience prompted me to write this review so that someone might find this helpful. We left the apartment in nearly as-good condition (with everything cleaned) as we moved in with no damage but still were charged a hefty amount out of our security deposit for priming the kitchen walls because of spice odor. When we moved-in we had some odor in the kitchen as well but we didn't mind it because kitchen is where you cook. The friendly apartment managers were un-responsive as soon as we moved out. Anyhow, post our move-out experience, I'd not recommend this community to a friend.

Thanks for reading this review.

Awful place with awful shady landlords

Absolutely awful business dealings. I called to clarify my rent after my lease renewal and was told a number about 4 months before I put in my 2 month move out notice. I then received a letter 2 weeks later saying that I owed money for a rent increase from 4 months back that I was not informed about. They then told me that even though I put in their required "2 month" notice that since I put it in October that if they didn't find someone that I couldn't move out until March because they have a 4... month period where Month to month leasers can't move out. So because of their admitted "miscommunication" they still expect me to pay the 4 month backpay, an 100 dollar increased rent, and stay there for another 6 months. Also none of this is on my copy of the lease but is on their copy of a new updated lease I was not given. As for the actual apartments you are only paying for location. That is the only good thing about this place. The inside is small, the kitchen is very cramped with no dishwasher, the bathroom is tiny, and overall the inside of the buildings is not very well taken care of. Internet being included seems like a plus but it is very slow and can barely be used for any modern usage (15up/1.5down is the regular I get). So if you're into shady, run down, overpriced apartments this place is for you. For anyone reasonable, probably not for you.

Not Worth It: Go Elsewhere

I've lived in a lot of apartments over the years, and this one is by far the worst value for how expensive the rent is. The kitchen is extremely small, the appliances are outdated, and the cabinetry throughout the apartment is splintering. The closet doors constantly come off track, the A/C unit has mold, and the tub/shower, toilet, & sink have extremely slow plumbing. The laundry is in the dingy basement with the storage units and costs $3 to wash and dry. However, the worst part about living... here, by far, are the neighbors who live below us. They blast music unreasonably loud at all hours, slam their door, and we even had to call the police due to a domestic disturbance. Seeing 3 cop cars on Coachlight Dr. is a weekly affair; not sure why, but this complex attracts a strange cast of characters.

My experience at Carriage Way

Here's an honest review from someone who is living there now and has given the mandatory "60" day notice to vacate. I am moving because I feel the rent is too high for this place. Been here for 3 years and rent has increased 85 dollars. Compared to other apartments in the area as far as price it's reasonable but, the place is made and run as cheap as possible. When I was filling out my application in mgr. office I could clearly hear somebody walking across the floor upstairs and I remember... thinking "that was loud very noticeable" I hope my apartment is not like that. It is the same but I was very lucky to have the place above me empty for some time. I know it's just an apartment but it seems excessive especially when there's a few people up there. I have done some home remodeling in the past and these kitchen cabinets are the cheepest of the cheep. Electric stove only has 3 working burners. Downstairs laundry room has 3 washers and 3 dryers all different models, styles, you can't put a couple loads in at the same time each machine has it's own cycle time everythings done at different times. Hallway smells like urine sometimes, not sure if it's human or cat. They are not good at snow removal I leave for work at 7:45 and no shoveling of walkways or plows yet. Looks like they needed to access upstairs tub drain or something and cut a hole in ceiling above my shower and patched it with a piece of plywood and painted it. Came home from work on Mon. and there was a note on my door stating that they needed to show my place every day starting Tue. 5th thru Mon.11th from 10am till 5pm must be alot of people wanting to rent this place. This seems odd to me because since I've been here when an apartment becomes empty it's empty for quite some time. The only good thing about this place is location.
