Don’t rent here! Not worth the price

We’ve lived her for only about 2 months. We told them we’d wait for an upstairs unit but they lied to us about the downstairs units being soundproofed. We we’re placed under some college kids & we basically sleep on their schedule. I work full time and I’m pregnant so this is ridiculous. They allowed us to terminate our lease but with 30days notice, we’re spending another $2500 here for a crappy one bedroom apartment & can’t even get any sleep. Even the surrounding neighbors complain and nothing... is done! The community is nice but it’s not worth it if you want somewhere quiet!

Less Than Meets the Eye

Do NOT move here. One of, if not the, worst property mgmt companies ever. They lie about your floor plan only to bait and switch. Then they upcharge you to get the correct floorplan, only to learn you got a janky version. You watch as your neighbors move into sparkling new units while you waste away your electric bill trying to cool a place that never drops below 80 because of old cheap windows. I often think my windows are wide open and have to double check.

But wait there's more...

They...
allow residents from other property and vagrants park in YOUR spot. When YOU, a paying resident, point out there are no spots due to this and you have to curb park (for ONE night) YOUR car gets towed!!!

They allow a person to use a spot for their junk yard, with a non operational vehicle which just sits there rusting. No parking pass. Not towed.

YOU get towed.

This all on top of the fact packages are stolen from doorsteps daily. So wouldn't advise as safe. Even with a gate....to lock you in!!

Overpriced. Under deliver. Nothing but cheap paint to attract you into a lease. Then they want you to pay 2.5X to move out and you get nothing in return.

Stay away!!!!!! I let them fool me once. Don't get fooled too.

Its a great place to live!

It's a huge complex and yet you don't hear your neighbor. You're lucky if you see your neighbor coming and going. There is green grass, a lot of beautiful trees and fragrant shrubs and the apartment themselves are laid out well. There are 4 different sized one bedrooms to choose from and they have been remodeled beautifully. They have central air!! The management team was very helpful and went far beyond "the norm" to get me in. The community of people who live here are all very nice... and polite. The apartments are on the higher end of the rental scale, but the way I look at it .... you get what you pay for. Lyon Living will not disappoint you. It's a pleasure to live here and call it home.

Accept No Verbal Promises

Long story short. Showed us a floor plan. Quoted us a floor plan. Took a lease on a floor plan. Then the day we showed up to take keys...BOOM different floor plan. And to get the one we were shown and agreed to: $200 more per month.

Dangling keys in front of us with movers, installers, delivery people, and homelessness standing behind us. Hardly a fair time to restart a negotiation that had been gainfully reached and agreed to several weeks prior.

My lease from my previous apartment ended on...
Sep 1 and to get the unit we wanted and LOVED here at Las Palmas they asked us to wait until Sep 20. Three weeks of couch surfing, but hey, I am getting the apartment I want after 2.5 months of searching. Well worth it!

Except no!! And not only was it not the unit we agreed to, what we got is falling apart. Broken door fell off and nearly severely injured someone (would have at least required stitches and a concussion).

Pipes are leaking (day 1 I remind you).
Blinds/shades are rusty and falling apart in some places.
Slight tint on glass slider is cut up and peeled off in sections.
Patio walls are termite eaten or just rotted. Someone can fall for sure!
Bathroom door is so poorly painted you have to force your way in each time. So loud it wakes whoever is sleeping.

ALL of this has been reported in various manners to management. I have even attempted to reach the parent company, LyonLiving. But no reply and the people who "miscommunicated" with me have since quit or been fired with no remedy to our situation. Maybe the "swamp has been drained" but don't be the guinea pig who finds out. Probably best not to rent here until at least 2021 or so to see how things shake out.

Good luck out there, people.
Thanks!
