Bad experience

I lived here for 2 years and just recently moved out last month. I feel inclined to leave the details of my experience while living here, in order to help others. I will start with the good part. Neyma who works in the office is an absolute joy and possibly the only thing good about this apartment building. Unfortunately I don't think she works here full time anymore, just a couple days in the week. This apartment building was bought by a new owner that implemented changes like re doing the... courtyard, in order to attract new move in's. What they haven't/won't/don't address is ALL of the theft that is happening at Canyon. There are multiple robberies a week, whether it's in the mail room or in the garage. So many times the mail room is completely burglarized. Everyone's stuff GONE and no explanation, even though there are cameras. I had mail stolen multiple times and NOBODY in the office cared whatsoever. They say they aren't liable and leave it at that. The burglars will "break in" & steal ALL of the packages and mail. Management has NO ANSWER on how. Peoples cars are consistently broken into and sometimes stolen out of the garage. Management says they have no way to fix it, just lock your doors. My friend was specifically targeted on 3 separate occasions and nothing was ever done. No security, & I guess the cameras don't work and the burglars know that. Management is beyond greedy by putting minimum costs into the building and living. Their sole purpose is to make the shared living spaces look decent so they can collect rent and leave you stuck in a situation with no protection/care/liability. I've lived in LA for 10 years and upon move out I have NEVER had any of my security deposit kept from me. Upon move out they kept $800 of my deposit and said it was for paint and cleaning. I'm a great and clean tenant that also hires a housekeeper 2 times a month. When I moved in, the paint job was so horrible and chipping every where. Multiple times I had issues with leaks and the floors and it wasn't addressed unless I consistently bothered them to please fix the floors lifting up. The last time it was never fixed at all. I had issues with mold multiple times and their answer every time was that they would bleach my apartment and that it wasn't mold when in fact it was. Again, this building is greedy & incompetent of keeping residents safe. I would NOT recommend it to anyone moving to the area.

Canyon Manor Apartments

The building itself is Okay. Large laundry room 24hrs never a problem, they lock the pool at 8pm, the sauna is always broken and the gym only has 3 machines in it. Its a typical Hollywood apartment, tenants are either from another state, or have been in the city/the exact rent controlled apartment for over 10 years.

They do accept pets they do have a few families with children so you will have to swim on weekdays.

Parking is great for you one spot only down side is if guest have to come the...
will probably have to take a long walk.

The only major drawback is that the building is across the street from a homeless shelter/church so a lot of homeless and at times trashy tents and broken bottles is what you will have to face
