I'm a current resident of Potrero 1010, posting this anonymously on behalf of many frustrated residents as we're all fearful that sharing the truth will cause retaliation by the landlord.
Potrero 1010 has significant security, safety, and maintenance issues over the past 1-2 years. One of the buildings has been completely without elevators for the last month, elderly residents are having to walk up 6 flights of stairs. The other building has multiple broken trash chutes leading to the entire... building smelling of trash (especially shocking considering monthly trash costs at this building are nearly $100/month). Meanwhile, maintenance requests are ignored. Residents have started reporting maintenance requests to the City as the landlord completely ignores them until they get cited by the city (The building was cited by the city for both of the above requests).
In addition to the cost saving measures by the corporate landlord mentioned above, the building has significant security and safety concerns. The mail room is robbed almost every other week leading to tens of thousands of dollars of resident packages being stolen. In large part due to a broken door, that once again the building refused to repair until they were cited by the city. They encourage residents to buy UPS boxes at their own expense, and have started threatening residents that they are considering cutting off mail delivery for all residents because of the constant thefts which they refuse to control with something as simple as a security service and moving packages back into the office; out of the garage.
At the end of the day, at Potrero 1010 corporate profits are prioritized over resident safety, security, and property.

Safe location in SF, nearby UCSF medical campus. Nice neighbors and apartment social events! Fast maintenance services (0-1day)

My goodness it's been a year of never-ending plagues. First, there was the broken air conditioner that took three months of nagging for them to fix. Then, there was the broken electrical outlets that took another month of following up. THEN, there was (still is) a building-wide ant infestation. THEN, there were (still are) broken fire alarms that go off at 2 AM for no reason. I've literally learned to sleep through fire alarms (!) because it's happened so often. NOW, there are break-ins and... package thefts, for which the building's answer was to cut off residents' access...to our own packages?
It's a nice location? I guess? That's the only nice thing I can think of to say.

I've lived here for two years. What they don't tell you when you move in:
- The paint gets marked up SUPER easily. You will be charged upon move out for repainting the apartment. It appears they do this to every tenant to recoup their turnover costs. They don't just repaint the marks but the whole wall. They will charge you $28.20/hour plus $25/min for a gallon of paint.
- They will charge you $140 as a standard cleaning charge upon move out. If you don't do this, you have to pay someone else... to clean your unit and provide them with receipts.
- CalTrain is very loud as is the highway, which means we can never have our windows open.
- Your rent will go up a lot every year. We are moving out because they want to increase our rent by about 15%. No thanks.
- People are nice, but no one actually talks to each other other than in the dog park. The idea that this is a "community" is a total facade.
- The package room guy is SUPER nice. We love him. AND, it always takes us forever to find our packages in the package room and it's not uncommon for them to be put in the wrong place making it take 15-20 minutes to find a package.
- The park is covered in dog pee and is not a place you will ever want to hang out.
The market in SF is cooling and you can find a better place.
