The utilities will be a variable number that will fluctuate usually on the extremely high side. THey are harrassing and the maintenance men are disgusting. The manager is a rude lady with no morals and they will enter your apartment without your permission and spy on you. Be careful renting from this place. It is a SCAM.

Property Manager at Bluesky Landing responded to this review
I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with Bluesky Landing. If you experienced any rude or harassing behavior from any of the staff I highly encourage you to come into the office and discuss it with us so that we can address the problem. We always... try to give residents as much notice as possible when needing to enter their apartment and always request permission to enter when completing work order. It is never our intention to invade any person space of any of our residents and I apologize if you experienced otherwise. Regarding the utilities, they will fluctuate monthly depending on the season and usage. We will typically discuss the varying costs and what these cover upon touring the community, preparing your paperwork, and when signing your lease. Again I highly encourage you to contact the office directly so we can address these concerns and help to make your time at Bluesky Landing an enjoyable one.

Quiet One Bedroom Close to the City and the Mountains!
I live in a one bedroom apartment close to the city of Denver and close to the mountains! The apartment is an open floor plan which I love! No crazy walls in places they shouldn't be. I have a balcony, a fireplace, a walk-in closet (love, love, love!!), and a washer and dryer to myself. The kitchen is open and fairly big for an apartment, it has lots of cabinet space so all of my kitchen gadgets fit nicely (I do not like a lot of stuff on my counters). The bathroom is a good size for a person... living alone. We have a dog park on property as well as a pool and a hot tub (open year round). The hiking trails are within 2 blocks so I do not have to get in my car to drive! The complex is close to shopping and restaurants and is just minutes away from 3 major highways so getting to the city is easy and quick. I like it here and my dog likes it here :) It's a good place to be!

Dont Rent Here!
This review is as honest as I can be (without mentioning names), and very thorough, unfortunately it is not positive. And this review is based solely on our experience.
Overall a disappointing experience. We moved to Blue Sky Landing Mid Feb 2014 and moved out Jan 03 2015. Honestly couldn't wait to leave. I will say 24hr maintenance team was great, and always available, friendly and nice. Layout decent, Neighbors great, view of city great, but I do not have much good to say about management and... charges.
These were a few of our issues/reasons we were happy to leave:
1. Layout decent, apartments recently 'updated' but VERY cheaply - think popcorn ceilings, spray on counter tops, and stick on plastic skirting boards throughout...so...still outdated! For the price they charge I felt it was way too cheaply done. In our first month a couple blinds broke from opening and closing and we were told we would be charged. Fair enough if they were brand new blinds, but they were old brittle ones (and cheap plastic) used by previous tenants. When I informed them that some of them were already broken and I could see had been taped up by previous tenants I was not charged. These broken but repaired ones were never replaced. This set the tone for us for the rest of the year. We just replaced broken blinds ourselves after that.
2. Additional charges - they charge you a chunk of extra charges - real estate tax, pest control fee, common area electricity and gas, $40.00 a month for washer and dryer (!!!), pet fees etc and so on. All our friends in Denver thought it was ridiculous. (Why were we paying for their Real Estate Tax??? What was our rent paying for?) So what looks like a decent rent after all the charges is really not that decent!
3. There were two old raised wooden garden boxes that were right outside our door. I would have been happy if plants were planted in them, but they were basically muddy giant cat boxes. A cat came everyday and did his business in them (I worked from home and would watch from my desk) and they stunk to high heaven. Especially when it rained. I asked three times for them to be removed and each time was assured they would be, but they never were - have since been told by them (since we left) that they decided not to remove them, but I was never updated or informed of this. I was 6 months pregnant when we left and if there is one thing you should not be around whilst pregnant it is cats excrement. My mother in law was absolutely appalled by the boxes when she visited.
4. We signed a lease for only 10 months as we were new to Denver and wanted to have the shortest possible lease while we figured out Denver and where we wanted to live. We were told we had to notify them when were leaving 60 days before our lease ended. We went in two days late and they told us if we wanted to leave Dec 31st (when our lease ended!) we would be fined a large amount for leaving 'early'. So we had to leave 3rd of Jan and pay 3 days prorated rent with the rental increase and so on. This was NOT a big deal but on top of all the other things really made us feel like they are a large institution that treats it's tenants like an institution NOT humans, but expects YOU to treat them like humans (i.e make compromises for them - but that is never reciprocated).
5. Everyone that we met the year we were there that was moving out had nothing good to say about the management company (it was new beginning Jan 2104). They had a lot of complaints and bad stories, but I cannot speak for them as it was not my experience. This did not foster a good feeling being there for us.
6. Our 'Deposit' was not a 'deposit' - not sure why they called it that - but was more a cleaning fee for when we moved out. We did not get much of the deposit back at all despite leaving the apartment in a cleaner condition (my opinion) when we left than when we arrived - when we arrived in the newly renovated unit fireplace was filthy, vents were filthy, nails sticking out of balcony etc. The only thing that was not absolutely pristine when we left was the oven. I wiped it down, but did not have time to run the oven clean system - there was an $85-$95 'cleaning fee' - If you would like more info comment and I will get back to you! This made me really angry when we got the list of bogus charges. I called justifiably upset, and the manager put the phone down on me! He later said he got 'cut off' but think he should have owned it. The deposit breakdown we got in the mail was unreasonable and on top of all of the above issues I had had enough.
I cannot say how happy we were to leave. All these issues were partly our fault because we signed the lease - and they cover themselves in their lease - but no one we have talked to have had these same issues renting in Denver and my husband and I have always been good tenants and have never had these problems renting before.
There were other tiny things we were not happy with. Rental increases, etc - all of them not big deals, and as I said before it was partly our fault for moving in in the first place. We did not ever - the whole year we were there - make a big deal of these issues as maybe this is just how management companies do things.
I would like to say: on the whole NOT a shockingly bad experience, am certain there are much worse places to rent from, but we feel like we know when we are being taken for a ride, and this was one of those times. Don't rent here! We are staying in a lovely townhouse right on an park with a lot more space and it's cheaper than our apartment was (and way cheaper than what it would be this year). - And we feel so much happier. Hope this review helps you, and hope you have a better experience here than we did!
