Overall quality has improved

I was living here before they sold out to the new company, and it was okay, but now they have improved a lot since the buy out. Yeah, my rent went up, but they take care of their residents more. I also enjoy stopping by for coffee every once in awhile. Every little bit helps. I wish the would start the coffee earlier because I have 8 am classes, and the office doesn't open till 9.

terrible place to live

Old furniture condition, a lot of college students live there, and they were super loud during weekend nights. Totally terrible!

Management at The Lodge of Athens

If you have any questions or concerns, management will be rude and inconsiderate. When you call them out for being rude they will defend their unprofessionalism. Doesn't seem like they care about their tenants.
I'm very shocked how I was treated. I was treated very poorly just for asking questions and trying to gain understanding of certain documents. They literally brought me to tears from their actions and I'm not sure what I did so wrong to receive this kind of treatment. They told me I was...
being unreasonable, so I guess we're not allowed to ask questions.
I guess tenants are not supposed to understand their agreements. I don't feel comfortable being a tenant here and it's disturbing how they allow managers and supervisors to be so aggressive and rude. I hope my experience helps your decision.

The Lodge of Athens

The Lodge of Athens is a great (and gated) college living community. There are wonderful amenities like a 24 hour gym, free tanning, 24 hour computer lab and study rooms (which includes free printing), a dog park, and a social grilling area with hammocks, an outside basketball court, free HBO, on site security guard, the largest pool in Athens (with outside flat screen TVs around pool area), and a shuttle bus that takes residents every 30 minutes on weekdays to and from the University of Georgia... campus and to and from downtown Athens on Friday and Saturday nights. All apartments are 2 bedroom 2 bathroom models that are fully furnished and come with flat screen TVs, security systems, washers and driers, and screened-in porch area. There are also community wide perks like pool parties, Tuesday breakfasts, coffee and popcorn in the leasing office, and occasional dinners or BBQs with cool giveaways. The office staff is amazing and are some of the nicest people you will meet who always remember my name and help me with any problems I have in the community. The maintenance guys are awesome and they are always good about fixing things in a timely manner. The only problems I have experienced here are the size of the shuttle bus which has trouble accommodating the large amount of students trying to get to campus and the times the shuttle runs which are every 30 minutes between 7:30 a.m and 5:00 p.m on weekdays and every 20 minutes between 11:00 p.m and 2:00 a.m on Friday and Saturday nights. The weekday hours are hard for students that need to be on campus earlier than 7:30 a.m or have class until after 5:00 p.m. There is a public transportation bus that goes past the Lodge but it only runs until around 8 or 8:30 p.m. And if you do drive and like to come home late be prepared for packed parking. Although you do get a parking decal when you move in, I don't know if they even check them. There seem to be way too many cars for the amount of apartments/residents and it's kinda annoying sometime. Other than these minor problems, this place is wonderful and I have and will continue to recommend it.

The Lodge of Athens

In the two years I have lived here, I have had no major problems. While I wouldn't say this is an outstanding apartment, it gets the job done.
