I have been a resident at 2756 N Pine Grove for a year and I am not renewing my lease. The radiators in the units are unbelievably loud and cannot be turned off. The sound keeps me up at night. The plumbing is also very dicey. The kitchen sink gurgles and the heat/cold in the shower randomly stops working mid-shower. Besides these "quirks" of being an old building, the property is also poorly managed. There is no way to put in any sort of maintenance requests properly, you just send a text to a... building manager who basically gets to it whenever he wants. The package room is extremely disorganized and packages are often left randomly around the building (in the lobby or next to mail boxes instead of in the designated package room). Also please be aware since this is a pet friendly building, the carpeted hallways often smell of dog pee and so does the front door. PPM also raised my rent over $200/month and gave less than 2 weeks notice to alert them whether we would renew. I would avoid this building and PPM at all costs. There are much better buildings to live in Chicago and Lakeview/LP specifically.

Worst apartment I've lived in.
Worst apartment I've ever lived in. The building is not in good condition. The unit we were in was not even cleaned or repaired when we moved in. The walls were cracked and had lots of chipped paint. When we asked the building to fix it, they made minimal changes and said they couldn't do the rest because it would take too long.
The unit had very obviously slanted walls and floors, which made me think that maybe the general settling of buildings was too much and it may be condemned in the near... future. The window sills had HAIR PAINTED INTO THEM. The AC units were moldy and old. The kitchen was cramped. The refrigerator was old and yellow on the inside, despite multiple cleans. The gas stove was from the stone ages. The transition strip into the master bedroom closet was completely unrepaired and had nails sticking out. The building refused to change it out. The "second bedroom" was a glorified closet. The restroom was appalling. THE TOILET SEAT IS A RESTROOM URINAL. I kid you not. The sink was always yellowing from the hot water's rust. The tub was unbearably tiny. When anyone flushes the toilet, you're scalded. or bathed in ice water for at least 10 seconds. When we told the bulding, they said it was a part of the building's vintage charm.
Most dangerously, during the dead of winter, the heater would often give out, sometimes for 24+ hours. When we told the building engineer, he often took his time in fixing the issue, or dismissed our concerns altogether. He'd sometimes come into the unit and say "it feels warm to me," despite the fact that the radiators clearly were not on. He only fixed the issue when we took thermal measurements and threatened to contact the city. In general, the building engineer was responsive but often abrasive, dismissive, and only willing to budge when we contacted his supervisors over a pressing issue.
Several of our packages were stolen from the building's package room. The laundry room is fine, but the machines often didn't work, and when it got busy, our laundry was often taken out by others midcycle.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for the ridiculous price. Don't be fooled by the pictures the building posts.

Great place for dogs. Thank You!
Dog friendly? Yes please! What can I say, I finally found a dog friendly apartment in Lakeview. Not only that but they have a really nice roof top deck to enjoy the summer on. I can walk to public transportation, have countless dining options, and a nice large one bed for my dog and I. If you have a dog and looking for a clean and friendly building 2756 is that place.

No Place I'd Rather Be
I love living here. I have a corner apartment with windows wrapping around both sides. The building sits at a busy intersection but the entrance is 50 feet from it which makes it close to everything you want but turn the corner and you have a quaint and quiet street. My favorite bars, restaurants, and brunch spots are within a 5 minute walk, (or right across the street) and I have easy access to three grocery stores, several gyms, and furnishing stores as well. The location is as close to the... lake as I can be off of Diversey and has a beautiful park with running paths. Easy access to both lake shore express buses to get downtown and the brown line. Marcel our building engineer is attentive 24 hours a day and wonderfully caring. It's like having a second Dad who is always concerned with your safety and well-being within the building. My apartment received new carpets, hardwood floor, beautiful counter-tops and cabinetry before we moved in, and I've been happy with the space and quality. PPM was easy to work with and I was able to find a perfect home after 1 day of apartment searching. I couldn't be happier with my first apartment in the city!

Love living this close to lake
I have lived @ 2756 N. Pine Grove for the last three years and I love it! My apartment is huge - I have an eat in kitchen (with a view) and living room that accommodates 2 sofas and a computer desk (I work from home). The building has an awesome rooftop sundeck and a business center with free printing. The best part is the building is dog friendly - no deposit or 'dog rent' - as long as i rent i will live here!
