I love this community because I love animals. Small animals and insects in particular are things I've always grown up around and really enjoy playing with. However, the rodents around and this community weren't very friendly and just seemed to steal our food. I think they were hungry with 'the munchies' after buying something from any one of the drug dealers immediately outside. I lived in the Atrium for 4 years in a 1 BR 1 BA. The management and maintenance was great- everything was always completed quickly and everyone I met who worked there was very friendly. My apartment was clean (no spiders in 4 years!) and quiet from the inside (as in, I rarely heard noise from my next door neighbors and NEVER from above). The noise problem came from outside with the light rail. It is loud. Especially when the light rail conductor blows the horn in the middle of the night. I... never got used to that. The other obvious issue is the neighborhood's local open air drug market, aka Lexington Market. This is not a safe neighborhood, but I never had a bad encounter in 4 years, even walking home late at night alone. The Howard Discount Liquor is amazing- great staff.
