I’ve lived here for nine years. My fridge and range were brand new when I got here. Since then the complex has also upgraded the windows, laundry machines, smoke and CO detectors, shower tubs, and faucets plus re-laid concrete and asphalt around the buildings every couple of years. The windows look good and lock tight to maintain climate control and near-silence despite proximity to the highway. Snow plowing is always timely. Heat is ventilation rather than radiator, it can be a little loud... but it works very well. Window AC unit has always worked. Never have had any kind of infestation, one time someone thought they saw a roach and management was proactive to immediately bring in a pest control company to inspect the entire building. Located right across the street from Aldi, around the corner from Sunray shopping center, and up the block from a Target. Immediate access to highway 94 and bus lines, plenty of restaurants, and Battle Creek park is nearby with nature paths.
Something great about this place is that instead of one huge building the complex is several small buildings. I think this makes it safer as you’ll always recognize your building’s tenants, this also keeps the buildings quieter with less coming and going, only one neighbor sharing a wall, and no hallway shenanigans. A hidden benefit of this place is the layout. Each building is three floors and four units per floor, that means every unit is a corner unit and that translates to air circulation. Most apartment complexes only have windows along one wall, but these have back and side windows. Opening the windows in the summer is actually comfortable because air can flow freely through the apartment, it’s always much cooler inside than outside and this is a huge reason I immediately picked this place when I first saw it. We’ve had the same friendly manager the whole time I’ve been here, she’s responsive to messages and maintenance needs and always pleasant. Easily the best apartment I’ve ever lived in.

Location
Location, location, location! It has shopping, places to eat. Metro across the street for bus service and next to the freeway if you drive. Clean and quiet! Great place to come home to.
