Collins Crossing is a great community. We have great neighbors, and the staff here is wonderful. They are very friendly and feel like family. We love it here, and would recommend anyone to live here.

Collins Crossing is affordable and perfect for students. There's accessible public transit, and its close to downtown Carrboro, several grocery stores, and bars and restaurants. The community here has been very welcoming and I've enjoyed getting to know our neighbors.

DO NOT MOVE TO COLLINS CROSSING!!!!!!
I was very excited to move in to Collins Crossing, especially considering it is a Greystar building. I lived in Grey Star properties in Texas and California and have had no complains. However, Collins Crossing was extremely disappointing. In addition to structural issues, which I would have no problem resolving (part of the base-board missing, lower cabinet fringed with water damage, doors do not shut, hold in the screen door, etc) the place is infested... with small roaches and completely uninhabitable.
I have found live roaches in each room of the unit, as well as within cabinets, the fridge, drawers, etc. There are also piles of dead roaches and roach droppings. This infestation was clearly made known prior, considering all of the drains were closed or covered. As soon as I opened a drain, roaches crawled out. Also, there are what looks like either piles of roach droppings or mold below the baseboards. I moved my stuff in on 8/5 thinking it was bugs from the doors being open (naive on my part) and as soon as I opened a drain and night hit, there were roaches everywhere.
When I moved in on 8/5 there was a notice that pest control visited on 8/3 which was clearly not enough considering live roaches were omnipresent. Management attempted to rectify the situation by vacuuming out the most severe cabinet, removing roaches that somehow got in the fridge, and arranging for pest control to come and spray the unit days later on 8/9 (mind you, the situation warrants more than just spraying). Since I have moved in, I have noticed a considerable increase in roach eggs and nymphs.
Due to the severity of the infestation upon move in, coupled with managements attempts to downplay my complaints rather than immediately resolving the issue, I wanted to break out of the lease. I immediately moved my stuff out into a storage unit, as I noticed roaches already somehow making it into the drawers of my furniture. I do understand that pests can be unavoidable, however, the severity of this issue upon move-in is horrific and should have been resolved prior to my move-in date, or at least as soon as the complaint was filed.
Whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE TO COLLINS CROSSING!!
