I usually don't write reviews, it's extra difficult for me, because my first language is russian, but I can't stay quiet about this place!
There were too many things wrong with this place. First of all, roaches, everywhere and no matter what we did, they never left. You can spray the kitchen, keep things clean, bleach everything, they won't leave. Once we got an entire kitchen soaked in a solution that was suppose to get rid of them, but nothing helped! It was really bad, if you come out in... the night to get a glass of water, your sink will look like it's moving because of the hoards of bugs. Second, the AC. It only works for one part of the living room. It's suppose to be connected to the bedroom, but it doesn't work, so in the summer and winter you get a studio, although paying for one bedroom. When it's over 96-100 outside it's impossible even to be in the bedroom. Yes, you can put a work order and ask management to fix it, but all they going to say is "What did you expect, do you see how old this thing is?" Third, space. Everything here is very inconvenient for living. If you are a single person, who doesn't really care about indoor comfort and don't own many thing, that's ok, but if you are a couple or you like to cook, then this place going to put your relationship under the test, like it did to mine. There is just not enough space for anything starting from kitchen cabinets to the closet. There is not enough room here for a microwave (they don't have it here), if you have any appliances like coffee machine, grill or blender, you will need at least one extra table to cook/store it, because kitchen counters are tiny. Move here if you don't have any other choice, like me and my husband did during the pandemic. Otherwise, please, find another option. This place will make your life miserable like it made ours.

Rent was raised $175 in 2 years. They didn't want to fix anything. The apartment next to mine flooded and I ended up with black mold coming through the walls. They never did anything to fix the mold in that apartment and when I moved out they had a new person in the apartment withing a week, so obviously they never actually cleaned the mold. The pool is closed more than it is open, they rent to criminals who damage cars and steal bikes. The management changes hands every couple of months, I... lost count at 5 during the 2 years I was there. I didn't have much of a problem with bugs till the flood next door then nothing I did would get rid of them! My friend ended up with bed bugs in her apartment and they wanted her to pay to have the exterminator come. The landscaper blew dirt into my apartment and my neighbors apartment, his door was open and the guy blew dirt in the door....my door was closed but there was a gap under the door so big that dirt was blown in a good 10 ft. The very heavy closet doors in my son's room fell off the tracks and almost fell on him, thankfully it hit a bookshelf first. The gate, to keep the property secure, has never worked (going on 3 years since I moved in. Oh and 6 months after I moved out I was sent a bill from a collection agency about money that I had already paid. I told them I paid it and they needed to fix that....they have not responded.

The Redwood Gardens has been a great place to live after I moved from subsidy housing. The manager Roxanne has been a great help to me since she became manager. She ensured that all the issues I was having in my unit were taken care of in a timely manner. At times I became impatient, but she made reassured me that she was handling the issues and she did!! Thank you Roxanne for taking the time out to keep me updated on my repairs and making sure I was comfortable. I would also like to thank Chris... and his new crew member working with him. They have worked hard to ensure that the laundry rooms are cleaned along with the landscaping. I also want to thank and acknowledge Roxanne, Grace, Chris, and the new maintenance Worker for inviting and celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with the tenants. Their Halloween and Christmas costumes were Amazing! My five grandchildren enjoyed being included in the festivities. There isn’t a perfect place to live, but I want to thank the manager Roxanne and the Redwood Gardens maintenance Crew for a job well done. Thank you for making sure that I felt comfortable living here. Thanks again. God bless ??

I was seeking a studio apartment at this complex and the staff were very kind. However, a few red flags started to pop up as the move-in process continued.
The unit was available and I signed the lease. They wouldn’t let me see the unit beforehand. A week or two later, I went to get my keys and finally saw the place, there were workers in there still painting! Not only that, but I kept asking if it was carpeted or not. I really didn’t want carpet. I was told all vinyl.
Afterwards, I planned... to move my things in. But the next time I entered, the floorboards for the carpet were removed. My front porch didn’t have a lightbulb. I found rags, paintbrushes, and a knife in the closet. There was paint all over the carpet. Bugs everywhere. They painted over the cable connections. Paint was all over the kitchen counters and the bathroom sink. It looked like an absolute disaster. Where it was vinyl, it was poorly done because I can see the tile they were covering underneath in some parts. The paint job was uneven and chunks of paint were left on the toilet. The bathtub had blue stains all over it for some reason. I took pictures to document all of this. I also have yet to receive my mailbox and pool keys.
Everything just seemed so rushed. They took no care to make sure the unit was decent for renting. It seemed they just wanted a tenant living in there ASAP.
To anyone wanting to rent here, I definitely recommend checking the place out before signing and if they won’t let you, find a different place.
