They won’t tell you but F45 (the gym directly below the apartments) is SO LOUD and will wake you up every morning at 6am. I loved on the 2nd floor, but people even on the 5th floor told me they could hear the gym too. There’s a reason there’s so many vacant apartments on the 2nd floor. Save yourselves and good luck finding an apartment!

Great location
This area of South Street is quiet, yet close to some fun areas to go out. Best location! Maintenance response to any issues very quickly (within one day) and the other tenants are all very friendly. The cleaning staff come at least once a week and do a great job keeping the common areas pristine. Highly recommend.

Terrible
NOISE NOISE NOISE! This building has a large courtyard off the back (under all apartment windows) where parking and trash is located. Since the area is gated and locked, a private company collects the trash. They come several times per week at 4Am (even Saturday) to drag old furniture, trash, and break glass on the concrete for 30 minutes. It wakes many people in the building. Counter management hires this company and won’t do anything about it after filing multiple complaints.

not worth it
I lived in an apartment facing South St. for one year. it was one sleepless year. while the big windows were certainly appealing at first, i soon realized they were completely NOT soundproof. at night, if people are talking and walking on South St., you will hear them loud and clear. As you will the instructors at the gym downstairs, every morning (weekends too!) from 6 am! The walls are paper thin. Luckily for future tenants, the bar across the street burned down, but, as the bar's manager... confirmed, a high rise will be built in its place, so say goodbye to peace and quiet, as well as whatever view you might see now! you can find better in Philly for this money, 1430 South St. is simply not worth it.
