Do not live here unless you are desperate

I had to take my car to the shop because it broke down and got a loaner. That same night the loaner was towed and I am expected to pay $230 to get it back. They refused to do anything about it, "my hands are tied there nothing i can do" total nonsense. There is something you can do you just WONT do it.

Management doesn't care anymore, once you sign your lease youre locked in

unbelievably horrible. loads of crime in the last year, a murder in my building, at least one other break in, shifty people roaming around and property theft galore. not to mention rude neighbors, with nothing in the lease regarding noise so neighbors feel free just blast their music all day and night. constant domestic disturbances and people yelling in the driveways. zero parking ever, there's a whole 12 spots that you could say are "dedicated" to our building but they're shared by the... neighboring buildings so we don't even get that. absolutely abysmal maintenance, will give you every excuse in the book as to why they cant do their jobs. you're charged a fee just to have the privilege to take your own trash to a dumpster that is constantly overflowing and full, only to be attacked by roaches and bugs that feed on the overflowing trash. dont let their sales pitch about "community" fool you, there is zero sense of community here. they have the audacity to raise our rent an insane amount after everything that has happened the last year. i already pay a ridiculous amount to live in a place i feel unsafe in. stay far away from this horrible place.

Pet "Fees" are Ridiculous

Nice looking apartments, convenient if you work in North Austin. I would suggest that you all change your ridiculous pet policy. I've never lived in an apartment where you don't pay a REFUNDABLE deposit, that way if your pets do cause any damage, fine you pay for it, but if they don't you get your money back. I've also never had to pay for a cleaning service at the end of my stay. If there are issues with the apartment I'd be happy to pay for them, however don't automatically assume there will... be and charge money anyways. You guys claim that you don't do refundable deposits to save your residents money up front, and that is bull. At the end of the day you charge "fees" which doesn't makes sense by the way because the definition of a fee is to pay someone for a service (you all don't provide any PET services) that end up being WAY more to pay then you would have in a deposit. It's highway robbery and you all make sure and let people sign your addendum to trap your residents into thinking they're getting a deal. Also, when explaining all of this to your residents, make sure and have someone who knows proper customer service etiquette do that. I should never feel as if I'm being talked down to. Also if you're going to charge someone $960 to have dogs, you better believe if I want to have my dogs enjoy the sunshine on my own balcony, and not sit out there with them....I'm going to do that. That is the dumbest rule I've ever heard. That balcony becomes the resident's property when we rent out the space, so you can't tell people what they can or can't put on that balcony. FIX YOUR STUPID RULES. Also, you might want to reconsider trying to rob more money by charging people for covered spots, you could just be decent human beings and take all of those down so that everyone can park for free and not have to walk 5 miles to get home. Shame on you.

Colonial Grande at Canyon Pointe

This is a nice, safe community with great amenities. The only downside is pricing. Rent is par for the course but a water bill for a two bedroom apartment with only two occupants is roughly $100 per month which is outrageous. As well in order to guarantee you will have a place to park you HAVE to pay for covered parking or a garage. The final issue is the trash situation. Though it's nice that dumpsters are not seen all over the complex, I would gladly trade this aesthetic issue given that the... community compactor is at the front of the complex, always overflowing, and if you leave a bag of trash on your doorstep for the night they will pick it up and charge you $25 per bag as opposed to the $25 per month trash valet fee many apartments offer.

Great place to live

I loved these apartments. Lived here for a year and a half. Parking was great, staff was great, neighborhood was safe and clean. Maintenance was quick and efficient. Spacious and well light apartments. Never loud or too many people out, and neighbors were friendly. Close to everything! Highly recommended.
