Awful Experience

When I moved in I was confronted with an apartment that was not cleaned at all. I say this without exaggeration. This included old crumbs of food in the microwave that also had burn marks. It also included caked dust above every door, window, and on top of the cabinets and refrigerator. The real kicker was when I opened a drawer in the kitchen just to find the previous tenant's belongings still in it. One of the window screens was also covered in grease/oil with two grills left right outside the... window. One of the employees had to call the owner of the cleaning service that they use, and she personally had to come and help my parents and I clean the place on the day of move in. This was appreciated, but should not have been necessary in the first place.

Trash will pile up in the walkways, with many bags sometimes completely open or ripped open from the roaming racoons/cats. This obviously isn't a great sight or smell to wake up to in the morning.

To move out they had the audacity to charge me for damages that the previous tenant caused. They wouldn't know the previous tenant caused them since they obviously didn't inspect the apartment whatsoever before my move in day. Their claim was that I had caused two dark spots on the wall. I responded and said that the previous tenant caused them. They literally assured me that the previous tenant did not cause the dark spots. Luckily enough, while I was documenting the disgusting apartment on move in day, I happened to capture one of the two dark spots that the assistant manager assured me was of my doing. What was their response? After being unable to provide a photo of the other stain since I didn't document every single square inch of the place, here it is word for word "Unfortunately I am unable to lower or remove the cost of the paint. The usual touch up paint cost is $50.00, but the paint stain on the wall by the head of the bed required multiple coats and more labor/time than usual.". So I proved that one of the two stains that they claimed was my doing, was actually not my doing, but the original charge for a total of two stains remained because their workers were inefficient in painting a small spot on a wall.

They also charge something at moveout for a "carpet cleaning fee". My carpet, along with everything else in the apartment, sure wasn't clean when I moved in so I'm not sure where that fee is actually going.

Don't Do It!

They switched management my second year and its been awful ever since. They got rid of all the old staff and hired all college students. Nothing wrong with college students, but they had no experience! A total lack of communication.

And to make it worse I receiced a bill for 600 upon move out! Appears to be common as i'm now seeing multiple people with the same issue. After scrubbing the place from top to bottom, I now owe 600. Makes no sense. Ignore the good reviews. If you look at the dates...
there all from when the old management was there.

The new management raised rents aswells. Seems like there trying to increase there profit by ripping off Aggies.

Cheat you at closing

While there, management was kind of helpful… not horrible.
But when you move out… they will send you a bill for cleaning that is about 2 months rent. Paint, steam clean, replace couches, steam clean mattress, and more.
If you do move here- photograph/date everything! Couch, chairs, floor, oven, fridge, toilet, shower head, faucets, walls, all furniture… the only way you may save on being charged.

Beware

We signed a lease several months before move-in. Two weeks before my son was supposed to move-in the office called to say that they didn't have a unit and were canceling the lease. I had spoken with the office staff a few weeks earlier and my son was already assigned a unit. When I pushed back and said we had a contract, they said they checked with their lawyers and because no money had exchanged hands they could cancel the lease. When I asked what we were supposed to do about housing now that... the semester started, the leasing agent said she suggested calling other apartments. Do NOT sign a lease with this company. They do not honor the lease. Now school has begun and my son has no place to live.

Property Manager at Holleman Crossing responded to this review

We apologize for what is happening. The property was sold on 1/19/22 to a new management company and entirely new team. The lease is a Texas Apartment Association lease so I advise calling them about this issue.

Roof leaking for almost a year. Worst management.

The management is the worst ever. Definitely not going to renew my lease.
It on average takes at least 3 months for any service request.
My roof has been leaking for almost a year now and still nobody has come to fix it.
Very poor communication with the manager (although front desk folks are very friendly and responsive).
