WORST APARTMENTS EVER !

Management is horrible, people are smoking everywhere.
We have a 3 year old child and our downstairs neighbors are smoking cigarettes in their unit. We’ve asked them to stop they claim it’s on the lease, I’ve been trying to reach the manger but for some reason she always makes up excuses like she’s some kind of queen. I’m am sick and tired of this place and I’m at the point where I’m pretty much willing to do anything to fix this problem.
Garbage is always overflowing because the tenants here...
throw it everywhere. There’s barley any parking. The parents here don’t watch their children, some kid dropped their bike on my car and scratched the whole side door !!!

Horrible condition

Horrible. Worst apartments I’ve ever lived in before. Barley parking, I have to park on the streets. Parking is 45$ for covered parking and they don’t have anything available. Apartments are old. People are smoking inside the apartments and it’s a horrible smell. Ventilation Is horrible. The whole apartment smells like smoke. I can not wait to move out. Almost want to break the lease and pay whatever price just to get out of these apartments. If you have children don’t think about moving into... these apartments.. people speed like crazy and can care less about your children playing outside.
Garbage is always overflowing.

Awful

This place is awful dirty and the staff is rude and dishonest. The amenities are often not available because they close the office whenever. The garbage is a nightmare. The crime includes drivebys so get your kid a vest or keep them inside. Many of the tweens are foul mouthed thugs. My year here was awful and I am still dealing with dishonest move out charges which the Manager agreed to discuss and then didn't show up or even call to rectify it. Just walk around and ask the tenants, you'll get... the same story

Poor Conditions, Poor Management, Deceptive Practices

Run away from this community- while recently remodeled, they have loud, noisy, disrespectful, dangerous, and dirty tenants.

Additionally, their lease verbiage is deceptive and most of what you pay to move in is a fee, not a deposit. They will take all your money and ask for more, even when its unwarranted. Don't bother trying to clean either- even your immaculate & spotless unit will still earn a $160 in "cleaning fees". Its outrageous that this lease is even legal (it is *barely*- thanks to...
Washington's low standards), as it will mention your deposits in describing the "fees" so it seems its referencing the fees when its actually irrelevant to the section you're reading- its incredibly deceptive and something you would not notice.

In my time here, I made no less that 30 complaints (likely even more than that), with video and photo documentation about issues I experienced, both environmental (neighbors leaving trash bags in the halls for days, people screaming all night, blasting music all times of the day, neglected children literally defecating on the grounds and playing with lighters, regular domestic disputes, heavy pot use from other tenants that would seep through my windows) none of which were addressed beyond "we'll look into it". The staff is pleasant enough, but the truth is they don't do anything- they are ineffective and unorganized.

Trash is a severe issue here- expect to see lots of trash rotting around the woefully undersized compactor- sorry folks, no recycling here either. The gym is only during office hours which are limited. Pool access the same. Why bother if they close at 6?

This is easily one of the worst places I've lived in my life, and I've lived all over the country. Its noisy, poorly constructed, in a bad area, dirty, and unsafe. The carpet was literally coming up and creating a tripping hazard (with exposed nail boards no less. Night time lighting was out for the entirety of my residency, despite being brought up. Mail gets stolen. Parking is difficult unless you pay for a spot, and even then people will block you in as they choose to park wherever they like. People blast their stereos regularly, enough to cause things to shake in your apartment, but no action gets taken. The "security" they have is non-effective and not even available all days.

Again DO NOT RENT HERE it is truly THE WORST - I wouldn't wish living here on my enemy and I was glad to pay over 2K to break my lease *thats how awful this place is*

Monterra apartment homes

We live on a 2 bedroom, this place is pretty good for the price and the area. The apartments do have high ceiling and an actual fire place, along with a wall heater, its perfect for WA weather, the high ceiling and the fire place go perfectly together and is a money saver to get wood during our loooong winters. The balcony we got faces a little forest area, others do face the parking and akward places, I do feel lucky to have the privacy we got, there is also a little storage area in the balcony... , perfect for our Christmas, Halloween decor (which btw they do contest decorated balconies during holidays, you get prizes for having the best)
There is a little Gym by the indoor pool and sauna, I tried using the GYM a few times but its closed up and only has fans, its too hot and I was loosing air to excersise. The indoor pool is awesome during weekdays and school hours, otherwise its over taken by teenagers, I never used the sauna, but I did rented their cabana for a pool party, we used the outdoor pool and the cabana, which has wifi, cable flat screen TV and kitchen with a fridge, we kept it all day and it was pretty great.
There is a parking issue, you can pay $20dlls to rent your covered port space, but there is a waitlist, they also have garages and free non-covered parking, but they need more because sometimes we find ourselves having to walk about a block distance, under the rain, with groceries, is an inconvenience to me.
There is only one rubbish dump, is one of those that compacts the rubbish, it gets pretty full on Sundays, there is ussually lots of cats around it too. There is no recycling area, and the rubbish is at the end corner away from the lot exit, so you have to drive all around with the rubbish in your trunk (or the roof like some people do) to dump it.
Managment is pretty friendly and they do try to keep the place together, this place do takes sec 8,so they have to keep the apartments up to code, which is a good thing. There is also a lot of military people, the base is about 10-15mins away, the airforce do practice flights in the area.
Freeway is around the corner (you will hear it sometimes), you are in the middle of Tacoma and Puyallup here, so 15 min each way to Malls, Fair, Downtowns, parks are all around (warning:the apartments playground isnt really a playground, more like metal structure), lakes, groceries stores, library too. Bus stop right infront of the apartments entrance, in case you dont drive in snow or icy roads).
