Will Not Move Here

Based on comments and more importantly replies from management... I will not look at moving here. The management seems very rude and confrontational. Will continue to look else where.

Poor Management and High electricity.

Landlord Mark was extremely rude when anything needed to be done. The woman who works in the office sometimes as well is also extremely unprofessional and mean sometimes. She sits outside with her friends on the rocking bench and talks badly about some of the tenants. She is one of those women who is in everybody else’s business and is extremely judgmental. Electricity can be $300-400 a month depending on the location of your apartment. Glad we moved to another apartment. Laundry prices went up... to $1.50/1.75 a wash and $1.50 per dryer. Dryers sometimes do not dry and then it’s $3.00 to dry one load. Elevator is broken every few months and the carpet inside of it and in some of the halls is disgusting. Also, rent goes up like $20 every year.

I guess I/we didn't give them the answer(s) they wanted to hear. However, in terms of completing work orders, they are typically completed within 24hrs (unless parts need to be ordered).
If you read the previous reviews below I've already...
addressed the electricity comments (more than once) and nothing has changed - anyone can contact WE Energies and get the building average ($120 a month currently) - 1st lie.
Yes laundry prices have gone up (1st time in 10 yrs) - and the dryers typically don't dry when the tenant overloads them, which does happen from time to time. They are not commercial or large load washer/dryers - those are found at the laundromat.
I've submitted a total of 2 service requests for the elevator over the last 2 years (documented through Otis). So other than regular maintenance, the elevator works great. 2nd lie.
The carpet in some hallways may be old (some sections have been replaced - we have a mile of carpet), but they are cleaned annually, vacuumed weekly, so "disgusting" may be more of an embellishment rather than a lie.
Yes rent has increased annually (more like $6-$12) - again an embellishment (do 2 embellishments make a lie?).
I don't get paid enough to lie, so if you want to know anything, please call :)

High bills and the management of the apartment is really bad and slow

I only asked some electricity bill paper but it took about a month.

Since I have no idea what the above means; I will simply state that any/all electric bills come from WE Energies.

HIGH electric bill!

I am currently still living in the apartments and my electric bills have been $200 a month for very minimal use of anything electric. I actually stayed at my parents for 2 weeks with my heat set very low and no electric use other than that...and my electric bill was still EXACTLY the same price!...even when I used much less electric. My old apartment I had the heat cranked up and tv always on and my electric was only $115 at MOST! I am not impressed. The washer and dryers also get expensive when... you have to run the dryer at least twice to dry a normal load. And my apartment wasn't even cable ready and the intercom didn't work.

Electricity is based on usage. Every unit has it's own meter. So there is no way everything in their unit was turned off and they still paid $200. I have lived here 7 years and the lowest electrical bill I have paid was around $40 and the highest... was around $250 - I keep my apartment at 70 degrees in the winter. The average electric bill for the building is around $115 a month, which can be proven by WE Energies reports.

If the dryers are over packed by the user than yes, it will take multiple drys to get your clothes dry. User error.

All apartments here are cable ready for either AT&T or Time Warner Cable and all intercoms work. We find that the tenant doesn't push the button on the intercom all the way down, if they do, they work just fine. So a lie and user error.

Good overall

Overall, I've been pleased with my experience at this apartment. It's set up like a hotel, with all of the units located in one building. In the central area of the first floor, there's a lounge, a pool room (with sauna and hot tub), and a laundry room. The lounge is spacious, and you can rent it our for the day (for a small fee) and have a decent sized get-together. However, you can only have two non-tenants in the pool area with you, so no big pool parties. The laundry room has ten washers and... fourteen dryers, and they generally work well. When they don't, the staff is pretty efficient in getting them working again within a week or two.

Our unit is nice overall. Two good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, and a fairly small kitchen. The living room has a fireplace, but we haven't used it yet. Everything is in good shape. The stove seems older but works well. We have a patio that looks out on the "backyard" area of the building - a fairly large yard with a small woods beyond it. (Rent is slightly more for a unit that faces the back of the building as opposed to one that faces the front.) The smaller bathroom has a corner that smells like animal urine, perhaps left by a former tenant's pet. Didn't notice it until a few weeks after we moved in.

Parking can be a bit of a headache. My roommate and I were given two parking stickers for our cars. We're assigned one spot in the garage underneath the building. This is convenient because I'm guaranteed a particular spot, but be aware - your vehicle needs to be relatively small to fit in these tiny spots. I wouldn't recommend trying to park anything bigger than a mid-sized car down there, and I've seen apartment staff tell other tenants to park their SUVs and minivans outside instead. Even with a properly sized car, you need to be very particular about how you park, so that the tenants on either side of your space have enough space to get out of their vehicles. Outside parking is even more difficult, since you're not always guaranteed a spot. My roommate used to complain often about guests being parked in tenant spots rather than designated guest parking (even overnight), but the staff may have cracked down on this since I haven't heard about it in a while. One last note - when leaving either the garage or the outside lot, you have to turn onto a street with a fair amount of traffic and often a LOT of parked cars. This can make it very difficult to see oncoming traffic as you're leaving.
