No complaints whatsoever!

I've lived here about a year now with my brother, and after seeing the negative reviews, I felt people needed to see the positives too. I LOVE coming home to my apartment, having our own separate bathrooms and our own laundry (With a split floor layout) are my favorite things. My brother is very tall, the vaulted ceilings were a HUGE win. A year went by so quickly, and we've never had to ask maintenance for anything because everything here was so well kept and still so new. Neighbors are very... friendly in our experience, we've never had to deal with tons of noise. John helped us with information and the lease when we moved in, and made sure it was ready to go the day we moved, and he let us know to call if we needed anything. We love where we live, and I hope we stay a long time!

Terrible management

I called management for help and never got it. I called their corporate office and left voicemails for every line I could reach for help from upper management and never received any calls back. I even mailed a typed letter to management and the corporate office stating my complaints including Wisconsin renter rights and the hazards of breathing in cigarette smile and my mail was ignored. There was cigarette smoke in my apartment everyday until I moved out. I stated in my letter that I would have... to move out if I did not receive help. After no response, no empathy, no communication, and I was told I never asked if it was a building that allowed smoking as if it was my fault that their walls and vents did not prevent smoke from moving into my apartment. I moved out and they immediately found someone else to move in yet they tried to charge me thousands of dollars even though they had someone else paying rent there and they refused to do their job which caused me to move out. Take responsibility for your actions and stop arguing and defending your poor management. When there is an emergency you can call tenants on the phone and not invade their privacy by pounding on the door at 5am or in the evening when I am in the shower or bathroom. You have no right to infringe on privacy and must call before approaching someone's home. You have no right to disturb someone daily because you neglect to fix your pipes to save money. Renters have rights and deserve respect like every other person. You prey on vulnerable people for money and abuse the system to profit in this capitalist broken housing system. There has never been an apology or any regard for my rights and humanity. Shame on you for trying to charge money for no reason. Shame on you for ignoring your tenant. Learn how to do your job.

Property Manager at Copper Cove Estates responded to this review

We value our residents' feedback as an opportunity to ensure the best services; so thank you for sharing your comments. I have reached out to your property manager and regional manager, as well as the vice president and our attorney for your full and... complete resident history with us, including our financially exempting you months early from your lease term as you moved to another state.

While cigarette smoking is irritating to some, Premier did not represent that this was a smoke-free environment. To accommodate you, however, they did ask the tenant who smokes to extend the courtesy of smoking elsewhere. As a tenant entering into a lease agreement with a property that does indeed allow smoking, you do not have a right, per se, to be exempt from someone else's cigarette smoke. There were no Wisconsin Renters Rights infringed upon here. Tenants in a multi-family complex must recognize that the rights of each tenant are viewed in relation to the rights of other tenants. No one tenant's concerns can be permitted to be viewed as superior to those of another tenant. It's also important to note that the Premier managed community in which you resided is new construction and fully complies with all codes, rules and regulations concerning ventilation and fresh-air exchange.

Also, as a newly-constructed property, there was not an issue of "neglect[ing] to fix pipes to save money"; this was new plumbing and, as such, there was an issue that required our attention. Therefore, regarding your frustration with management's inconvenient visit to your front door (we always give 24-hour notice via a note on the tenant's front door, except in emergency situations), the 2 times management requested entry were both in response to a pipe emergency, and your cooperation was both critical and appreciated.

At Premier, we are required to, and proudly do, comply with all Federal, State, and Local Fair Housing regulations. While YOUR apartment home was NOT an income-restricted property, we do manage several properties across the country for income-restricted residents, and we are proud to offer both them and residents at market-rate properties a safe, attractive, and affordable apartment home.

Rude Management and cigarette smoke

Neighbor's cigarette smoke gathers upstairs in the walkin closet making your clothes smell like smoke. Managers are rude and knock on your door at 6am for any reason. They don't care about your comfort for a home. They only care about their money. They rented my apartment to a new tenant after I moved out and still tried to charge me money while someone was paying rent. Terrible experience, worst experience with a landlord in my 20 years of renting. I do not recommend this place, it's sad... because the apartment is beautiful with a garage. They just don't know how to manage the property. They would rather try to ruin someone's credit history than have basic customer service and humanity.

Property Manager at Copper Cove Estates responded to this review

I have communicated with the Regional Manager regarding your concerns. Our managers take residents' concerns and feedback very seriously and work to find an effective and efficient solution. As you are aware, the manager spoke with the tenant below... you who smokes, sharing your concern with her; she gladly accommodated you by moving her smoking to her garage or the step outside.

While the management was apologetic for knocking on your door at such an early hour, as you are aware, they did so because there was an emergent situation: your shower was flooding your downstairs neighbor's apartment. Certainly, management would not have bothered you at that time if it were an issue that could have been addressed later.

Despite a new resident moving into an apartment, the former resident still has to fulfill the terms of the lease that he or she signed.

We regret that you did not have a positive experience. Our management and maintenance teams work diligently to provide residents with the very best service. We do wish you the very best moving forward.
