The Lake Union Tower, affectionately known as the 'LUT', is a community to truly call home. There is a fantastic sense of community in which many neighbors would literally offer you the shirt off their own back. Sightings mostly include young, vibrant 20 and 30-something's socializing on the rooftop or planning a building-wide outing to local breweries. It only takes a few minutes to walk to the MOHAI/SLU and 30 to Belltown/Downtown.
The units are spacious and well laid out and have great... balconies with unobstructed views of Lake Union. Besides the rooftop with grill, there aren't too many amenities in this building which keeps the rent from entering the 'ridiculous' zone. The only down side is the relatively old or worn finishes, fixtures and appliances.
Overall, it's a perfect building for young and fun city living. Close proximity to downtown, the waterfront and access to casual organized social events rivals amenity spaces offered by new apartment communities. The relaxed sense of community is best described as reminiscent of college years if they were refined, just a bit.
Its a phenomenon that is hard to explain, it's a unicorn, it's a Lake Union Tower thing.
